I’m a software engineer, trained journalist, tango dancer, wife and mom. I am currently solving machine learning problems at Meta.

Previously, I worked for five years at The New York Times, contributing to different parts of the business side as a software engineer.

I became very interested in news and the media industry shortly after I graduated as an Electrical and Computer Engineer in Greece, by working on an EU-funded research project, called SocialSensor, where I got the chance to collaborate with journalists from around the world and from various news organizations, such as BBC and Yahoo news.

As a result, I pursued a dual master’s degree at Columbia University in journalism and computer science. My master thesis, “Tagging News Stories - Building an Automated News Tagger” won the award for Excellence in Computational Journalism by the Tow Center for Digital Journalism & The Brown Institute for Media Innovation.

Since then, I’m constantly looking for ways to use Machine Learning to improve how we learn and communicate in a more efficient way

Outside of work, I love spending time with my baby boy and my husband Theo. When I get the chance I try to dance tango - something I did a lot more regularly before I became a mom.
